 THE POSITION

  • Three director-level reports.
  • Focus on Broker Relations, Strategy & People Leadership.
  • Leads and directs a team of 35 in Western Canada.
  • Strategizes with the team for commercial mid-market underwriting success, profitability, growth and operational efficiencies for multiple product lines.
  • Oversees the entire underwriting process, including referral underwriting and pricing policies in accordance with strategic direction.

MUST HAVES

  • Technical knowledge of commercial underwriting theories and practices.
  • Leadership and management skills, demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
  • Sales and marketing experience relevant to commercial insurance.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of external/internal business partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree with Master’s preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent.
  • CIP, ACIP or FCIP designation an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years’ related work experience; 5 years management experience.
